River and DAM Managemen System

Rain falls on land, runs into rivers and returns to seas, In this water circulation, rainwater is used as water resources necessary for our livelihood. For keeping our good and comfortable life, it is indispensable and mandatory to maintain this water circulation safely and stably, and to use water resources effectively taking environmental conservation into consideration

Eventually, nature causes disasters such as floods and droughts. To protect our life and property against such disasters and provide people with safety and security, it is very important to manage rivers and dams appropriately.

To manage and utilize precious water resources and protect your national land and the life and property of your nation, various types of management systems including hydrological observation, information acquisition and information dissemination which enable timely and appropriate operation and management of river and dam are required..

Disasters3

Radar Rainfal Gauge System

The radar rainfall gauge system is designed to monitor rainfalls andbsnowfalls in a wide area in real time in order to realize accurate and quick dam and river management.

Telemetry System

The telemetry system is designed to automatically measure and collect those data from unmanned gauging stations in remote areas, allowing high-speed data acquisition and energy saving for efficient, effective data management The telemetered data is also used for weather forecast.

Discharge Control System

The discharge control system is designed for quick, reliable and safe dam management. Rainfall and water level data in the upper reach of a river, reservoir water levels and gate aperture data are calculated and processed to provide latest data indications, make alarm decisions, prepare daily totaling reports and display various types of processed data. In addition, the inflow volumes and discharge volumes are calculated for quick and accurate operation of discharge systems, ensuring safe dam operation.

Integrate Multi-DAM Control System

Dam data is acquired from multiple dams to monitor the flow conditions of each river system. The monitored data can be used to draw up a flood control plan and direct necessary instructions to each dam, allowing safe operation of river systems.

Dicharge Alarm System

When water is discharged from a dam, the water level ¡n the lower stream will rise. The discharge alarm system consists of sirens and audio equipment to alert the people in the lower stream and the residents in the environs of the dam to a danger.

River Information System

The river information system is designed to sum up and process the telemetered data including rainfalls, river water levels, water quality data and reservoir water volumes in the river basins in easy-tosee and quick manner for reliable river and dam operation and management (including flood control, dam control, flow and discharge supervision and water quality control).

CCTV System

The CCTV system consists of cameras installed in remote sites to monitor rivers and river management facilities, dams and dam control systems. The system uses optical fiber cables as transmission paths, allowing the site conditions to be monitored from a control center.

Integrated Information System

The system is integrated with a radar rainfall gauge system, a telemetry system, a discharge control system and a river information system to collect the information from those systems and disseminate it to the users such as administrative agencies and residents by various means including Internet, smart phone, portable phone, fixed telephone and facsimile.

Trunk-Line Multiplex Radio Communications System

Multiplex radio communications equipment can be set up a point-to-point high-capacity communications links using radio frequencies without large-scale cabling work The radio communication links that are resistant disasters such as landslides can be connected with cable links to set up a flexible and stable trunk-line network.

Satellite Communications System

Communications links can be set up by using a geostationary satellite. The satellite terminals are available in “fixed typë’ which is permanently installed and “transportable type” which can be used in disaster sites. By connecting both types, the satellite communications network can be set up without suffering disaster impacts and used for collecting information on disaster sites and for backing up other networks.

Radio Communications System

The radio communications system is used to set up communications links by making use of radio media such as wireless LANs. The system allows optimum communications networks to be configured flexibly by connecting to a wired network.

Sensor Network

The sensor network is configured as a radio communications network in which a number of radio sensor nodes are interconnected.

Small Hydropower Generation System

The small hydropower generation system is designed to convert a hydraulic energy of water such as discharged water from a dam through a waterwheel into a mechanical energy, which is further converted into an electric energy.

Energy Management System (EMS)

The EMS is designed to supervise the power consumption of equipment at a dam control center or any other management office and realize optimum energy saving. It can efficiently control the eco-power which is generated by means of solar or wind energy, in order to accumulate or sell the surplus power.
